Shri Paresh Rawal is a member of parliament, a social activist, a film and stage actor. He is also a successful theatre producer-director and television producer. He believes and follows a simple ideology and that is to be a good and responsible citizen of India and believes he is an actor’s actor. He is also Brand Ambassador for Skin Bank to aid burn victims. Born in Bombay / Mumbai 30th May 1955 Shri Paresh Rawal did his schooling at Lion’s Juhu High School, Mumbai. He then went on to studying Commerce at Mumbai’s prestigious college Narsee Monjee College of Commerce and Economics.

About Me

Shri Rawal has proved that he is actor of actors and has been performing on stage since 1972 in Gujarati and Hindi plays. He has acted in more than 150 plays and performed more than 5,000 shows in India and in countries like USA, UK, Africa, Australia, New Zealand, UAE, Europe and Far East. He launched his theatrical company – Aangikam in 1987 with the play Maharathi which was directed by him with him performing the lead role. After Maharathi he has produced, directed and acted in hit plays like Chiranjeev, Mulraj Mansion, and Khel/Slueth (with Naseerudin Shah). The latest success being ‘Dear Father’ (Gujarati). He has performed a record 50 shows in 52 days in 52 centers in USA in 2012 - the play being Kishan vs Kanhaya (theatrical version of film OMG -Oh My God). On stage he has been awarded the Gold Medal for Gujarat State Drama Competition-1977 Best Actor –Play Tokhaar and 1980 Best Actor- Play Vheth Chetu Moth.

It was in his schooling years that Shri Rawal discovered his love for acting. This was realised in his college days when he represented his college for many inter-collegiate drama competitions winning many laurels for his college at fêted competitions held by the Indian National Theatre (INT) and Indians Peoples Theatre Association (IPTA). It was his performance in Tokhaar that got him recognition and after seeing his performance at the inter-collegiate level the veteran Actor-Director Shambhu Mitra applauded his performance by saying, ‘I'm whipped by your emotions…’

Shree Rawal initiated his career with the 1984 film Holi in a supporting role but it was the 1986 blockbuster Naam which established him as an actor. Before he attained national recognition Shri Rawal achieved recognition and adulation for his role of a bank robber in Kshana Kshanam a Telugu films. Shri Paresh Rawal has acted in more than 250 films in Hindi, Gujarati, Telagu language. Some of his best films are- OMG-Oh my God, Sardar- Sardar Vallabh bhai Patel, Hera Pheri, Baghban, Road to Sangam, Mumbai Meri Jaan, Oye Lucky- Lucky Oye, Paa, Cheeni Kum, Malamaal Weekly, Sir, Kabzaa, Naam, Tammana and Dacait. His contribution towards Hindi Cinema is priceless, and there is no doubt that he has been bestowed with supreme talent and a great urge to serve the nation.
